While You Wait: 3 Things That Speed Up Approval
Gather your income proof
Most recent 2 to 3 pay stubs or a bank statement showing direct deposits. If you are self-employed, two months of bank statements. Communities want to see that your gross monthly income is 2x to 3x the rent.
Get your photo ID ready
A valid government-issued ID for each adult applying. Expired IDs will slow the process. If you recently moved states, some communities accept both your old license and a piece of mail showing the new address.
Budget for move-in costs
Plan for first month's rent plus deposit (typically $200 to $500 at second chance communities). Application fees in DFW run $50 to $75 per adult. If you have a pet, add another $200 to $500 for pet deposit. We will give you exact numbers for each community on your list.
